Allotments update

Posted 2/4/2020

Following the instructions around movement and gatherings from the Prime Minister on 23 March 2020, we are consulting with central government but as we understand the situation at the moment it is still permitted to visit your plot, ideally on your own to take daily exercise.  It is vitally important that you follow all the advice about social distancing and hygiene (see below) and not gather together on site.”
1)   Any plot-holder who is self isolating because a household member is ill with corona-virus should not be visiting the site.”

Covid19 Update

Posted 28/3/2020
On behalf of Redenhall with Harleston Town Council, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our residents who are helping the fight against Coronavirus. Whether it be supporting the needs of vulnerable or isolating residents - delivering essential groceries or medicines, or just being at the end of a phone for a friendly chat. It is all vital work supporting our special community.

Please be reassured that we, as your Town Council, are working closely with both South Norfolk Council and Norfolk County Council and other support networks, such as the Waveney Foodbank. We are making sure all funds that are available are applied for and that we will have in place support for those that need it.

The council office is closed to members of the public, however we still have office staff supporting and providing letters and lanyards for the volunteers collecting shopping and medicines. Our maintenance team are still working to maintain the cleanliness of the town ( early in the morning) and are looking after the assets run by the town council and responding to any maintenance issues that arise.

All calls to the Town Council office are being diverted to our Town Clerk, Lynda Ling, who is working from home and will be able to advise and signpost accordingly.

Essential business only will continue to be undertaken by our councillors, via video conferencing, who are working hard behind the scenes  - as well as the excellent co-ordinating support on the ground by Councillor Pegg.

Please take a look at our Harleston's Kindness Help Hub website, set up by Councillor Graham with support from other councillors. This website is a vital link to support residents during the crisis.

Please remember we are there to help residents through this.

As our Prime Minister says "We are living in unprecedented times; we are in this together."

Stay at home

• only go outside for food, health reasons or work (but only if you cannot work from home)
• Stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people (social distancing)
• Wash your hands as soon as you get home

You can spread the virus even if you don't have symptoms.

Please stay safe everyone

Councillor Frances Bickley
Chairman
Redenhall with Harleston Town Council
