Thank you to all residents who are adhering to the Government’s Coronavirus social distancing guidance.

Over the last 3 weeks, we have come a long way in helping, as a community team called the Harleston’s Kindness Help Hub, to support all residents that need it.  Redenhall with Harleston Town Councillor Lizzy Pegg, has been co-ordinating a fantastic team of volunteers, who are collecting shopping, essential supplies and prescriptions for lots of our local residents that are either vulnerable or self-isolating.

It is with great sadness that we report 5 deaths within our local community, due to Coronavirus. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and friends.  We also have a number of confirmed and unconfirmed Covid-19 cases in isolation.

Please understand that this virus is REAL and can have serious and fatal consequences for any of our loved ones. Therefore, it is of paramount importance that we all PLEASE listen to the government advice including the letter from the Prime Minister received by all households this weekend, to not only keep ourselves and our family and friends safe, but to protect those dedicated NHS professionals that are putting themselves on the frontline to saves lives. Please also remember the Harleston Kindness Help Hub volunteers, who are also putting themselves on the frontline, to help anyone of our residents who are in need.  They are doing this out of the goodness of their own hearts.

Please only go out if you really need to for:

-          Essential shopping – this should be on your own and try to limit your visits to one shop by planning ahead for what you need. Make a 7 day meal plan and only buy the groceries you require. Remember 2 metre social distancing at all times.  Please avoid and distance yourself from any social distancing queues outside shops or the chemist; stop and safely cross over to another pavement if necessary. It is extremely distressing for residents queueing outside a shop to have someone walk past them without the 2 metre distancing.

-          Daily exercise – this should be on our own or with a member of your household and be in the form of a walk, run or cycling and only ONCE. Please do not stop to sit on any benches, these surfaces can carry the virus.  Remember 2 metre distancing at all times.

-          Remember to wash your hands thoroughly for at least 20 seconds whenever you return home.
